The Sawyer is designed around one of the things we love most about working with real hardwood: sometimes the tree should help determine the final design.

Rather than cutting every edge perfectly straight, we preserve the natural live edge of the slab, allowing its curves, grain, and individual character to become part of the finished table. Paired with clean black powder-coated steel legs, The Sawyer balances organic hardwood with a simple, modern base.

Choose from Spalted Maple, Walnut, Maple, or Cherry to make the look your own. Each species brings something different, but every Sawyer shares one thing: the natural shape and character of your table will be uniquely yours.

Choose Your Hardwood

Spalted Maple — Dramatic dark lines and naturally occurring patterns make this the most character-forward option. Every slab can look dramatically different.

Walnut — Rich brown tones and flowing grain create a darker, more refined contrast against the black steel base.

Maple — Naturally lighter tones keep the table bright while allowing the live edge and grain to provide the character.

Cherry — Warm color and fine grain that gradually deepen into richer reddish-brown tones with exposure to light.

We've already established the proportions, construction, and overall design. Simply choose your hardwood, place your order, and we'll select and build your table in our Michigan shop.

The Sawyer is built from solid hardwood and protected with a durable matte finish designed to showcase the natural grain while standing up to everyday use. Its powder-coated steel base provides substantial support without competing visually with the natural shape of the top.

Your table should arrive exactly as it should. If it arrives damaged or you experience a workmanship issue, we'll make it right through repair, replacement, or refund.

The Sawyer you receive won't be an identical copy of the table pictured. That's exactly the point.
